Zinc and tinnitus
Zinc is an essential nutrient, but a nutrient being necessary for health does not automatically mean extra supplementation treats tinnitus.
Deficiency is a different question
Correcting a confirmed nutritional deficiency is not the same proposition as taking zinc specifically to treat tinnitus. A clinician can help interpret whether testing or supplementation is appropriate.
More is not automatically better
Supplement dose and total intake matter. Zinc can also interact with some medications and excessive intake can cause problems, so avoid assuming a larger dose is more effective.
Why it appears in tinnitus products
Zinc is included in some ear-health formulas, including Zeneara. See our Zeneara ingredient breakdown for the full advertised formula.
